This web radio was founded in 2016 by Alain a 58-year-old, who lives in Le Havre, Normandy, situated in the North of France. The musical program is original, with all the greatest hits, from the 60s to… today. This gives a unique mix where the jazz group Fattburger rubs shoulders with the R&B singer Cherelle and… Bruno Mars. Its slogan is “Premium Music.”
Hello Alain, tell us about the early days of your radio…
It was in March 1996, and I decided to create my radio after a health problem that could have cost me my life. A radio enthusiast since childhood, and after having been a volunteer host, I have always dreamed of having my radio. Creating my radio was possible with Radionomy, which offers a free solution. Radio Turbulences (whose name is inspired by an old FM radio in Le Havre), these are the mythical titles from the 1960s to the present day, foreign and French, disco and “Californian,” to obtain “La Musique Premium,” which is the radio’s slogan. Today, Turbulences has more than 1150 tracks. It’s less formatted than many radios, but that’s the goal while keeping a rather harmonious, varied and warm program.
A few programs?
Every evening, from 7 pm to 10 pm, it’s a relaxed atmosphere, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, from 10 pm, there are the “disco nights turbulences,” just disco from 10 pm to 5 am, for partygoers who would like a program that moves…
How do you arrange the program?
It is a clever mix between the choice of tracks, and the mix between disco, international music, French music, west coast/jazzy music and, in Christmas time, Christmas music.
Anything to add?
I want to take this opportunity to thank Jean-François, producer of SOLARIS 2 for his help when I was a beginner on Radionomy. I owe him a great deal!
