Five things to know about the Day template

For the producers who have recently joined us and who are still getting familiar with the RadioManager, here are some reminders on the different features of the Day Template, a major element in the construction of your program via the Planner.

1.    The day template allows you to build your day’s schedule

A Day Template corresponds to a 24-hour period (from 5 am to 5 am) that you will program. It is on the Day Template that you will install your Clocks on the time slots you wish (see our article on Clocks notre article sur les Clocks ). You have a clock, “jazz and lounge” and you want it to be broadcast from 5 am to 12 pm? Choose it by right-clicking on the Audio. Then simply “drag and drop” it to the Day Template, indicating the desired time slot. It couldn’t be easier.   The same goes for your playlists. Just know that there should be no free areas on your Day template.

2. It allows you to program podcasts and promos.

Once you have programmed the music, you will be able to add any podcasts and promos you may have by clicking on the content function on the right. The list of your own podcasts (see our article on how to make your podcasts successful notre article sur comment réussir vos podcasts ) will then appear as well as those provided by Radionomy (News, Weather etc…) to which you have subscribed. It is up to you to place them on your Day Template by indicating the exact time at which you want them to be broadcast (with, if necessary, a frequency of broadcast during the day). The idea is the same for promotions, the only difference being that you must, in addition, choose which file of the selected promo tray should be played (thanks to the drop-down menu).

3. You can choose the times at which the advertisement will be broadcast

Thanks to the Day template function you will also be able to choose the broadcasting times of your advertising screens. Simply click on Ads on the right and move, for each hour, the two sliders corresponding to a two-minute advertising screen. The only constraint to be respected is to leave at least 10 minutes between each screen.

A little tip: this allows you to create, several times during the day (every two hours for example), time slots of nearly an hour without advertising (by playing on the time differences between one hour and the other)

4. There’s no point in creating too many of them

Even if you can create as many Day Templates as you want, there is no point in creating too many (except special days with a single schedule). You can have a Day template for each day of the week, a Day Template for the week (to be scheduled from Monday to Friday) and a Day template for the weekend (to be scheduled from Saturday to Sunday), or even… only one Day Template if your programming is consistent over the days

5. You can easily upgrade it by duplicating it

The Duplicate function is very interesting. It allows you to create a new Day Template from an existing version. It is Ideal to keep the same base and modify only a podcast or a promotion, without having to rebuild everything!
