This web radio is managed by about 30 volunteers which have a passion for the Disney parks; especially for the one in Paris that was inaugurated with the name Eurodisney in 1992 (hence the name of the station ED92).
Hello Ben, can you tell us about the start of ED92?
The site ED92 was created 5 years ago by a group of fans that wanted to share the magic of Disneyland Paris. Since then we’ve become a notable multi-media structure amongst the leaders in specialized media.
Why did you choose Radionomy as the platform to broadcast your radio?
We of course researched and studied several platforms, we found that Radionomy offered the format and flexibility that we needed. Considering that we are a group of volunteers; paying for this service was not within our reach. Radionomy allowed us to enter the web radio universe without needing a considerable budget or advanced technical knowledge.
Could you go into detail about the ED 92 concept?
ED92 shares the world of Disneyland Paris 365 days per year. The idea is to offer the soundtracks, shows, and parades of the different areas within the park. It is not always easy to find the different soundtracks of the Disney Parks, It is content that is highly requested by the Disney fans. In this case, we’ve built a complete library that features every aspect of the Disney parks sound.
How is your radio organized in a day?
We have 3 programs per day:
–Wake up with ED92, early in the morning our listeners wake up with the most rhythmical and cheerful music from the shows and the parades.
–The soundtrack of Disneyland Paris is our biggest time slot, during the day and at night. It’s an eclectic mix of new and old show soundtracks as well as a few surprises along the way such as the special effects that you can hear in the Phantom Manor ride.
-Finally, at the beginning of the evening, we created a new slot composed of the best late night Disney Park shows. ED92 Radio Night offers music, evening parades projected on the castles and multi-media content from the Disney parks from all over the world.
How is the team organized?
I manage ED 92 (the website) and ED92 Radio from London with about 30 people in France, some of which live close to Disneyland Paris in order to keep daily media coverage of the Disney Parks! It’s a lot of teamwork, we are somewhere in between a big family and an SME.
